Key Benefits
-
Ease of Use
Available directly in Nordicon Trucking’s customer portal. With just a few clicks, you can switch to HVO100 and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90%
-
90% CO2 reduction
All reductions are fully traceable, independently verified, and aligned with international emission reporting standards, supporting transparent Scope 3 reporting.
-
Sustainable & Certified
The renewable HVO100 used is produced from sustainably managed waste and residue feedstocks, ISCC‑certified and free from palm oil.
-
Supports sustainability frameworks
Using renewable fuels strengthens alignment with ISO environmental standards, EU climate initiatives, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, supporting your broader sustainability commitments.
-
Drives transport decarbonization
By switching to HVO100, fossil diesel is directly replaced within road freight operations, contributing to measurable emissions reductions across the transport chain.

HVO100
HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a premium renewable diesel produced from responsibly sourced waste and residue materials, such as used cooking oils and animal fats. The fuel is fully renewable, palm oil-free, and fully compatible with existing diesel engines; no modification required.
The HVO100 used within Nordicon Trucking GreenwayZ is ISCC-certified and reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional fossil diesel. This makes HVO100 one of the most effective and sustainable renewable fuel options available for road transport.

How our HVO100 Insetting works
1. Emission Calculation
-
Fill in origin, destination, and cargo information just as you normally do in our customer portal.
-
When your shipment details are completed, choose “Switch to HVO100” under optional add-ons.
2. Fuel Switch
Nordicon Trucking collaborates with a verified third party that manages a network of transport operators using renewable HVO100. Within a Book & Claim model, the transport operators waive their right to claim the associated climate benefit. This ensures:
• No double-counting of emissions reductions
• The full climate benefit is allocated to Nordicon Trucking customers
• Real CO2 reductions take place within the road transport sector
This approach is known as insetting, meaning that emissions reductions are achieved within the same sector where they are generated.
3. Certification and verification
All CO2 reductions are independently verified by a third party to guarantee accuracy and prevent double-counting. Upon completion, you receive a detailed declaration, supporting documentation for sustainability and annual reporting purposes. The declaration includes:
-
Consumed renewable fuel volume and corresponding emissions (kg CO2e)
-
Product type, raw material, origin, certification standard, and certificate reference
-
Emission factors and verified CO2 reduction compared to fossil diesel, including equivalent fossil emissions
-
Assurance of traceability, additionality, and Book & Claim compliance
Verification follows leading frameworks, including GLEC Framework v3.0 (Smart Freight Centre), GHG Protocol, ISCC under EU RED II, and ISO 14040:2006 and ISO 14064 standards. This ensures CO2 reductions can be reliably reported within Scope 3, fully aligned with CSRD requirements.
